MediData Data Accelerator Service

MediData’s Data Accelerator is a browser-based service created primarily for cancer centers and medium-size hospitals to provide a single point of data entry for patient demographic and insurance information.

You enter the data once and Data Accelerator uses the existing screens and processes of each application program in exactly the same way a data entry person uses them, except that the process is automated. The service doesn’t skip steps or make data entry errors that humans might, thus it improves the quality of information in the system. Since the data is not entered directly to the underlying databases, you retain data and operational integrity of all underlying systems.

Data entry screens include intense edit and data quality controls to eliminate duplicate, missing or phantom patient files and unbilled services. Data analysis and patient/treatment quality evaluations become easier to complete and are more accurate.

Data Accelerator collects procedures data from all relevant application programs automatically. It then applies client-defined business rules, including Medicare modifiers. Billing transactions are sent to pre-defined staff for review, correction and or authorization. If a billing-related anomaly occurs, automatic email notification is sent to a re-defined staff person. To ensure accuracy, hash totals, by CPT code, are generated for each transaction file.

Data Accelerator reduces by half the cost of data entry staff and training for registration is reduced to about one hour. When applied to clinical and billing systems, Data Accelerator can reduce accounts receivable by up to three days due to reduced billing errors and resolution time. In addition, fewer mistakes in patient records can vastly improve patient satisfaction and save you time and money.

The service creates a daily 100% audit trail of all data entered or modified, thus improving system security and audit capabilities. Transaction audit reports are generated that identify when and who entered and/or modified all transactions.

Data Accelerator provides a single point of data entry for all systems without affecting your existing technology infrastructure. Data Accelerator is easy to operate, available 24/7 and requires no maintenance. Print spools and spreadsheets can be used as input sources, in addition to manual data entry. Enhanced edit and data quality controls are built into the screens. You eliminate costly duplicate data entry, highlight and resolve data inconsistencies and reduce data entry errors, resulting in significantly reduced operating costs. Access to data is limited to authorized personnel, thus also promoting HIPAA compliance.

Data Accelerator adapts to any change you make in your systems with no additional training required. The service has no effect on vendor warranties. In addition, annual Medicare changes can be accurately implemented.

Data Accelerator uses our Virtual Assistant™ technology which reads data from a Graphic User Interface (GUI) screen on any application program and populates that data onto the GUI screens of any other application programs. Thus, in many applications, this technology can synchronize multiple databases using each application program’s own processes and screens to enter, edit and extract data.
